So, no matter how many times you have been hurt by others, make room in your mind and heart to trust again. Life becomes very lonely when you feel you can’t trust anyone. Trust is a basic building block in all relationships. Without trust, you have nothing and the world becomes a dark place. It’s time to let the light shine back in, so start with trusting that life is good and those in your community are for you not against you. Trust that their smile is sincere and smile back – it’ll change your whole perspective on life.
Doing something new can be very intimidating, and yet exhilarating!!! Although it is human nature to remain in our comfort zones, we become stagnant when we do. The only way we can grow, is by trying new things and finding out what we’re capable of. There is a big difference between dreaming and doing. I think I’ll stick to the simplest list of 4 types: Acquaintances, Casual friends, Close friends, and Intimate or lifelong friends. Although each category has different expectations attached to them, it’s important to be able to recognize the behaviour of a true friend, and one who is not.
The joys of home-schooling cannot be underestimated! I have home-schooled my kids since my daughter was in grade 2 and my son in kindergarten. Hard to believe it’s been 9 years so far! This will be my last year as my son’s academic teacher as he will be going online for grades 10-12. As daunting as it seemed at first, it’s actually been more fun than you can imagine. It’s been amazing watching them develop a love for learning, and discovering their own unique learning styles.
