Waiting on God
Waiting on God to answer my prayers.

Waiting on God is not always easy, but it is always worth it. The biggest challenge in my life is waiting on God’s answer to my prayers. My husband and I always put our big decisions before God and ask Him what His will is for our lives. Sometimes God’s answer is clear, and sometimes it’s not. No matter what His response is, here is why it’s always wise to wait for His answer and abide by it. Click here to view my YouTube post.

Canada Christian College

Recently I posted about my excitement over my plans to start my Master’s in Christian Counselling at Canada Christian College this fall. After much prayer I applied and I was accepted. The only thing I didn’t have was the money for tuition. We came up with a plan to come up with the money, and prayed that God would provide the finances we needed for me to start. Our financial plans fell through, so we prayed harder that the finances would miraculously appear.

To my great disappointment, the money did not appear. After many conversations back and forth with the admissions office, we decided the best thing for me to do was push back my entry until January of 2026. Of course thoughts like, “Does this mean God doesn’t want me to get my masters?” popped up. Obviously it doesn’t mean that I’m not meant to get my Masters, it just means not yet. Sometimes God answers “Yes,” sometimes it’s “No,” but often times it’s “Not Yet.”

Handling the Not Yet’s

I haven’t been in a University environment since the 90’s, so this really made me wonder if I’d be able to handle it. I haven’t stopped learning, and taken many courses and workshops over the years. However, I’ve not been in the academic world and to be honest that’s a bit daunting. After attending the Open houses and orientations, I’m really stoked to step back into that world again. In addition, they were offering a free writing course to learn how to do citations for academic papers.

Despite not being able to attend full time as planned, they allowed me to take the writing course anyway in preparation for January. Although It’s only been a week, working on this paper has really opened my eyes. As much as I wanted to jump right in, I’m so glad I have this opportunity to slowly get up to speed before going full time. I still have my family, and virtual assistant jobs to juggle as well. So, even though it wasn’t what I wanted, it’s the best thing that could have happened.

God’s Timing Rocks!

Let’s face it, God’s Timing Rocks!!! Consequently, I have so many examples in my life about how God’s timing is always perfect. When I was pregnant with my first child, my husband hadn’t received his permanent residency in Canada yet. As such, he couldn’t work. Once he received his permanent residency and social insurance number he started applying for jobs. I was still working full time, and within a few months of my going onto maternity leave, he was hired for a really great job in his field.

There were some mix ups with his first few paycheques due to his Social Insurance Number being so new. As stressful as that was, God was there for us. Just as I went onto maternity leave, my husbands first real paycheque came through. Even though we didn’t know how it was going to work out, God did. He had our back, and we’ve never gone without food or a roof over our heads.

In Conclusion

Waiting on God is not always the easiest thing to do, but it’s what faith is all about. There is a war going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about, so sometimes a delay in our plans is what’s best for us. God knows the whole picture, and I know I can trust that He has my best interest at heart. If you are in a season of uncomfortable silence, just know God is working miracles on your behalf, and the wait will be more than worth it!
